Latter half of the 18th century. Few details of of his life are known. "He probably came from Kanazawa in Kaga province, for the origins of his style can be seen in the fitting of the Kaga area. He was a founder of a large school of artists who worked in the flush inlay style on soft metal plate, reminiscent of a Kaga style made from 1550 to 1700. The early work of the school resembles pure Kaga style of the Genroku period (1688 - 1704), later the students developed a style known as the Murakami school style." Ref. Haynes H 02100.0
